The Ikea cart that owns my heart!

During one of my many Ikea trips, I recently discovered the joy that is the Raskog Kitchen Cart!

I should mention that I do NOT get free stuff on this blog. I don’t get paid to endorse anything and any items that I share with you awesome people, I only do so because I LURVE them. Even as this blog grows, I plan to keep it that way.  There’s nothing more annoying than reading a whole post about how amazing something is, only to read a disclaimer at the end that it was a sponsored post.

NOPE. Not gonna happen here, folks!

Anyway, back to my intense love for Ikea.. lol.

This cart is pretty awesome, and I bought it without even having the faintest clue what I was going to use it for. It was in the “as is” section, and there were about ten of them there. They were only there because they’d been used as floor models, and they were 40% off! Yes, I’m kicking myself for not getting at least one more.

Once I got it home I just sort of stuck it in the family room and it quickly figured out what its job was meant to be. Smart little cart!

My family room often resembles more of a daycare than a living space, and I pretty much give up at this point.  My husband is always trying to clean and tidy it, to which I always say what’s the point? You don’t go out and shovel in the midst of a blizzard… just let it go and we will clean when they’re in bed! But my new little friend the Raskog gave me a bit of an “aha!” moment…

Every single toy out at all times…

I decided that the current way wasn’t working.  Now, each night, before bed, I ask the kids what they want to play with in the morning. They can each pick two or three items, and everything else goes away. Three shelves on the cart, three kids, do you see where this is going?

Yup… a cute little spot for their things to patiently wait for them until they wake… and I find that the clutter in this room has gone WAY down!

They take their items from the cart, and even put them back when they are done before they take the next thing out…. it’s a Christmas Easter end of March miracle!

Looking better in here!!

Solutions after

I truly wish that I had one of these in every room of my house – and at some point I very well might! I won’t even mention the obvious uses that this cart could serve in the kitchen… and check out these brilliant ideas that other people have come with for this great storage solution!

  1. I just had to say how much I love your “not sponsored” disclaimer! I feel the exact same way. It definitely affects my readership of some blogs.

Me too, Lisa… It was YHL that made me realize early on that I want a CREDIBLE, honest blog. As soon as I see sponsored posts I lose interest, and I want to be as authentic as possible!
